The strength of community in Bengaluru is remarkable, as the city embraces various arts and cultures. According to musician Khyochano TCK, who is organizing the Brillante Piano Festival in the city this weekend, musicians from 18 countries and 16 Indian states will be participating, uniting with a common purpose and vision. Bengaluru's dynamic cultural environment provides the ideal backdrop for the festival, which originated in Kohima, Nagaland in 2017. The festival will showcase performances, workshops, competitions, and masterclasses spanning jazz, contemporary, and classical genres. Additionally, the event includes a platform for Specially Abled Musicians (SAM) as part of its inclusive approach.
Khyochano emphasizes that the festival symbolizes artists from around the world coming together for a shared vision. Preceding the festival, a street piano event was held on Church Street, emphasizing community engagement through music. Khyochano highlights how this event showcased the power of music and art as mediums for creative expression that bridge diverse communities.
